Monthly direct debits and standing orders are very valuable as they allow us to plan ahead.  We would be extremely grateful for your generosity and promise we will not pester you with unwanted calls to increase the monthly amount you might choose to donate.  Please contact the office on 0300 3020035 where we can assist in organising this.

By cheque. If you would like to donate by cheque please let us know if you are a UK taxpayer; if so, we can claim Gift Aid from HMRC increasing the value of your donation by 25%.  In this case we are required to have your contact details for confirmation of this so please supply us with your full name, address and contact number.

Payroll giving. You can make a donation from your monthly wages before tax.  If you are interested in paying directly out of payroll please ask your employer.  In case of queries employers should contact Catherine Saunders on 0300 3020035.

Would you like to leave a legacy?

Midlands Women’s Aid has helped thousands of women since it opened in 1976, and we need to continue providing this critical support into the future.  If you feel you would like to leave a legacy to enable us to do this please call and speak to Catherine Saunders, Services Manager, on 0300 3020035.

Donate your time!

Volunteers are particularly important for fundraising as we have no paid ‘fundraising team’ or dedicated fundraising employee.  Fundraising and organising events can be lots of fun, a great outlet for your ideas, a way of making new friends, and very rewarding. We also look for funding from trust funds and seek individuals who may be willing to donate substantial sums; we need somebody to do a little investigating to find these trusts and individuals. If you would like to be part of our volunteer fundraising and events team then get in touch!

Business Partners

We have strong relationships with local businesses who help us financially and in-kind and we are currently developing a sponsorship programme.  We will always credit publicly organisations that have helped us to deliver our vital services.  If you would like to discuss how your organisation could work with us, please call Services Manager, Catherine Saunders.

Our volunteers are vital to helping us provide our service.  Some volunteering roles are sociable and a good way to get 'out and about'; other volunteering roles can be conveniently undertaken from home.  Occasional help at busy times is invaluable as is just two hours a week or every other week to enable us to continue delivering our regular service.

Volunteer roles we are particularly looking for:

  • Helpers and leaders for activities for all age groups especially during school holidays
  • Art therapy specialist to deliver occasional session
  • Funding researcher
  • Social media specialist
  • Fundraising events co-ordinators
  • Liaison with local businesses for fundraising
  • Gardening
  • Beauty therapist / make-up artist
  • Fitness and wellness coach

Please call us for a chat.  Everyone is valuable to us.

We have an exciting new project that we will be launching for volunteers – The Community Liaison Team.  If you are a sociable person who would like to get people in your community involved in fundraising for the refuge then this could be for you!

We are also now recruiting trustees to the board. We welcome applications from committed women and men who would like to help Midlands Women's Aid continue to deliver exceptional service and embark upon bold new plans.

Training is given to all volunteers.  We believe we should give back to you for your efforts.  As part of the induction process all new volunteers will be asked what they would like to get out of volunteering, and their experience at Midlands Women’s Aid will be reviewed on a regular basis.  We promise to work with you to put your volunteering experience to best use in terms of enriching your skills, knowledge, and CV and make it an enjoyable experience.
